Andrea G Artz "Farewells" at Rottstr5

The artist and curator Christian Gode fetches the native-born Ruhr area artist Andrea G Artz from London back to Bochum: Travellers and those bidding farewell meet in hundreds of three dimensional collages from the London-based artist Andrea G Artz.  The photographic colour prints are from photographs taken with mobile phones. The Farewells  site-specific installation in Bochum's Rottstr5-Kunsthallen art gallery tackles the topical themes of homelessness, exile, immigration and globalisation. Andrea G Artz also engages with her place of birth in the Ruhr region. As part of the exhibition, further cooperations with exhibition venues in the Viktoria.Quarter are planned such as a workshop for children and intercultural discussions between artists on the themes of home and migration. The "Farewells" project encourages reflection on contemporary topics while also promoting discussion between Bochum-based and international artists.
