Michelle Dickson is Director, Strategy for Arts Council England .

Arts Council England is the national development agency for arts and culture. Our mission is 'Great art and culture for everyone'. We work to achieve this through advocacy and partnerships, development and investment. To achieve our mission, we have a 10-year strategy for 2010 to 2020. Created in consultation with partners, including national and local government, arts organisations and artists, the strategy sets out a vision that we deliver in collaboration with local partners.

Michelle's role includes responsibility for the Arts Council's next ten year strategy, its deployment of strategic funds, developing a quality evaluation framework across the arts and cultural sector in England, and policy and research.

Previously Michelle was Director, North and the National Director of Touring for Arts Council England. Before joining ACE in 2014, Michelle was Director and Chief Executive of Oxford Playhouse, a 600 seat theatre with a 50 seat studio. She produced and toured theatre locally, regionally, nationally and internationally, supported numerous emerging and established artists, commissioned and co-produced work and developed an off-site programme of performance. She has also worked for The British Council and Ambassador Theatre Group.
