Professor Christian Höppner is the secretary general of the Deutscher Musikrat (German Music Council) of which he was a board member and vice president from 2000 to 2004. He has been teaching violoncello at the University of the Arts since 1986. Professor Höppner is the president of the Deutscher Kulturrat (German Cultural Council), its speaker for the music section as well as chairman of the expert committees on education and media.
