The Ruhr district is a conurbation with large creative potential, which can be seen clearly at some places already. This task is to exploit this potential and make it politically aware, in order to ensure living quality and sustainability for the conurbation Ruhr permanently. In the course of the European Capital of Culture RUHR.2010, ecce launched the project of Creative.Quarters.
LABKULTUR.TV - CITY.CHANGE.Future
LABKULTUR.TV is web TV and blog forum and was conceived as a European portal for the cultural and creative industries. LABKULTUR.TV monitors, accompanies and promotes the change from the industrial to the information society in the Ruhr region and European partner cities. You can find more information here.
The European Capital of Culture RUHR.2010, ecce and the Forum d’Avignon have entered into a Franco-German partnership in form of the Forum d’Avignon Ruhr. The aim of the cooperation is to shape policies for the future and to provide an internationally significant contribution for the mastering of today’s challenges by bringing leading figures of different working fields together.
EUROPEAN CREATIVE BUSINESS NETWORK
The main goal of the ECBN is to contribute to establishing the European Union as an accessible, effective and rewarding single market for SMEs in the cultural and creative industries. It was founded in Bristol in March 2011 following a kick-off workshop as a project of the European Capital of Culture "Essen for the RUHR" in October 2010. Further information available here.
